The United Airlines’ Base Maintenance Operation Camo Santa Program Brings Christmas Cheer to Veteran Families in Need
Each year, United Airlines receives heartfelt thank-you letters from Veteran families who’ve enjoyed a Christmas holiday because of the airline’s Camo Santa program. The Base Maintenance Operation Camo Santa hosts several events year-round to raise money for this special cause, including ticket sales for a prize drawing. CTG was honored to contribute several items to the prize pot.
This year, the program has expanded to include National Guard troops on active duty, retired and injured veterans, as well as the local chapter of Team RWB. Widespread devastation left behind by Hurricane Harvey hasn’t dampened the spirit of the Camo Santa sponsors and planners. They are dedicated to the opportunity to show gratitude for our Veterans and their families.
The prize drawing was held at Houston’s Hobby Airport Facility during the Veterans Day Celebration last November. One hundred percent of the $16,500 raised will go to providing financial assistance and Christmas gifts to Houston’s local veterans and their families. The Camo Santas have adopted fourteen active duty and National Guard families and two families from the Houston chapter of Team Red, White and Blue.
